Oranjefeest

Oranjefeest is a Dutch festival in honor of the royal family, which is celebrated in April as “Queen’s Day”, a date marked by the birthday of Princess Juliana, Queen of the Netherlands until the 1980s.
In 2013, Queen Beatrix passed the throne to her son Willem-Alexander, and from then on, “Queen’s Day” became “King’s Day”.

In Castrolanda, “Queen’s Day” was officially established in 2000. The festival is held outdoors, all day long on Rua do Moinho, in front of the Dutch Immigration Memorial. The event offers many stalls with activities similar to those held in the Netherlands, such as handicrafts, typical foods, and the sale of clothes, toys, and plants. There are also performances by folklore groups and choirs. Students from the Evangelical School, charitable organizations, self-employed professionals, and companies from the region, as well as the community in general, participate.

In 2025, the party will be on April 276h, from 10am to 4pm.

Enchanted Christmas

The community of Castrolanda offers a major tourist attraction to the Campos Gerais region during the period leading up to the end-of-year festivities. In December, the Memorial da Imigração Holandes, decorated with light hoses, becomes a stage for performances by several guest choirs and institutions, who perform Christmas carols. This is the Enchanted Christmas of Castrolanda, which fills the hearts of hundreds of visitors with tenderness and emotion, who gather every night to applaud, sing and be moved by the children’s voices projected from the windows of the Mill, outlined by the light of thousands of lamps.
