Historical Museum
The “Boerderij” style building represents the typical farmhouses of the northern region of the Netherlands, combining a residence and a stable/shed.
The furniture and objects on display were donated or loaned by the families of the pioneers and reveal the history of these brave warriors who left their homeland in search of a new life.
The space representing the stable/shed hosted the exhibition “Castrolanda, an encounter with its history”, which takes us on a journey through time while learning about values such as unity, cooperation, perseverance and others.
The garden, vegetable garden and orchard, under the care of the farmer’s wife, are aimed at the family’s subsistence and are also contextualized in this project. In addition, there is a water well and “windbreaks” (poplars) around it.
